About us

Café Lulo begins with a connection that goes far beyond coffee – a bond between two people, two cultures, and a shared vision.

Jhey is from Colombia, a country where coffee is deeply woven into everyday life. His family has strong agricultural roots – while they weren’t coffee farmers in the traditional sense, they grew fruits like lulo, a vibrant tropical fruit beloved across Colombia. Coffee was always part of the rhythm of life.

Sabine discovered her love for coffee in all its colors, aromas, and forms – from fruity filter brews to bold espressos. And when she first tasted fresh lulo juice, she was hooked – it became her absolute favorite.

While Jhey and Sabine worked together in Colombia on socio-ecological projects, they began dreaming of something bigger: a coffee project that builds real bridges between producers and consumers – rooted in fairness, transparency, and human connection.

Now – together with their son Amaru – they’re bringing that vision to life: Café Lulo & Micro Roastery opens in Berlin. Here, single origin coffees with direct ties to farming families meet Colombo-German flair, social values, and lots of heart.

Café Lulo stands for quality, transparency, and real impact. Every cup tells a story – from the hands that grow the beans to the people who enjoy them.
